[ Trapped in Panama ]

[ Laughing with Cancer ]

[ Lost sons – a century voluntarily war ]

[ The France of the Tour ]
The Tour de France is much more than just a cycling event.
Every summer weather is three weeks a major social and cultural event.
The television and radio messages most about the sporting developments in stages.
Much less attention is paid to what is happening outside the course.
In ‘The France of the Tour’ is about those spheres, to the people along the many paths, French, but also Dutch.

He positioned himself along the way, spoke spectators experienced the noise of musicians and advertising caravan and interviewed Raymond Poulidor, icon of the Tour.

[ Champion with Krienbühl and Clapskate ]
The patent on the clapskate was already registered in 1894
The skate was at the top until 1996 really in use, by the Dutch women’s team.
When Tonny de Jong directly benefit appeared to have followed the foreign competition quickly, and all at the Olympic Winter Games 1998 in Nagano drove almost every skater on clapskates.
A veritable rain of world records followed, many record was multiple seconds tightened
We can now hardly imagine pre-clap skate era, but 15 years ago, kept the minds busy.
An introduction of any material improvement whatsoever in the skating world comes not without a fight, because the familiar ‘skate’ feeling in a contest skater paramount.
Willem Davids then made up the balance.
Skate technician Jos de Koning, skate historian Jelmer Kuipers and skate manufacturer Zandstra, watching – with speedskaters Ard Schenk, Hein Vergeer, Rintje Ritsma and skating coach Leen Pfrommer -,to the future and history of the clap skate, the suit and better runners.

[ No Demolition neighborhood ‘Electrobuurt’ ] – program from the series: ‘Club van 100’
The Hilversum neighborhood ‘Electrobuurt’ should probably be demolished due to the poor condition of the housing. The residents have to move back later to come into a new rented house on the same spot.
The residents do not accept this. And certainly not the way Housing Association ‘Het Gooi en Omstreken’ thinks the inhabitants equally to throw. “A letter on your mat, or you just want to leave.”
At a meeting: preliminary sketches of the new district. Nothing concrete, and very suffocating. Care about the future is great. Indeed, revenues plates change, housing benefit nibble every year something, and the whole social network is now broken.
The residents of the neighborhood ‘Electro’ (176 houses in five streets) feel heavy duped. Young and old. But they feel strongly. An action committee has been established. They let it not down! Willem Davids reports.

[ Looking for a Stage ] – program from the series: ‘Club van 100’
Ricardo “Arístides” Bekema has been to Cuba in search for his “Muzical Roots”.
There he had many help from his friends, Eva de la Caridad Griňán & Gabino
Jardines Cisneros. These great musicians play the traditional Cuban trova and are
well known and respected throughout the province of Oriënte de Cuba. But being a musician in Cuba is not
always easy. To make a living and perform for the greater public.
“I want to give these people a change to come to Europe and perform in theatres and festivals. To let them
come to the Netherlands is not the difficult part but then… I personally don’t know any organizations which
can promote such kind of great artists…”
Who can help them…?
Willem Davids talks with Ricardo Bekema and his guitar teacher Huib Wilkes (El Payo Humberto) about his unusual request.

[ The King of Integration ]
‘De Inburgerking’ babbles a strange’ Arabic ‘lingo, Moroccan boys would provoke something bad about’ whites’ and asks to speak during a telephone interview to a serious German lady or his accent her already ‘heiss’ made, but really annoying Muntz not yet become. Worse: The Inburgerking ‘is deep in his heart, really a good guy.
He has an alternative integration course for immigrants – ‘hundred euros contemporaries, ‘illegal’-in offer and he asks during a conference, from the audience, to Minister Verdonk when Morocco to the European Union will be allowed.
He states, playfully, to the matters in many debate programs on the same channel hardly follow.
In ‘De Inburgerking’ may found on the street rapper queuing, in its programs and marketers get the word homosexual Muslims.
All clichés come in the past broadcast from discriminatory hit singles from the ‘good old days’, to the unreliable immigrant who appointments fails after twenty years and still do not speak Dutch.
